We cannot believe we have been in Croatia for a full week! It has been exciting and a blessing to both the church here and to our family. This past weekend was filled with encouragement from here and abroad. On Saturday, there was a pizza party reception for the Buchholzes from Boston. This gave us a wonderful opportunity to mingle with more of the married couples and singles in the church. It also gave us a chance to try Croatian pizzas; tuna pizza, pepper pizza, and some type of sour cream pizza! They were actually quite good. Tuna is our family favorite It was so great to see Nadia and Skylar running around with the children. Saturday night we were invited to watch a modern dance performance that two sisters produced and performed in. This church is filled with very creative people. On Sunday, the church met together in the afternoon and did a joint communion service with Boston via Skype. Technology is amazing!

Several disciples from Zagreb were able to share their testimonies with Boston and we watched a teen get baptized in Boston! I cried during this service because it was just so beautiful to see the kingdom extend beyond miles, cyberspace and language barriers! It was surreal to think that I am on the “other” side of the monitor and not sitting in the States watching these faithful brothers and sisters. I am among them! Our week has begun and our schedule is filled with lunches, dinners and barbecues with families and singles. Yesterday, I met a sister named Daniela for tea and prayer at a lake, and we had our first real homemade Croatian meal with Maria, Darco and their two sweet girls who have bonded with our daughters.
