Announcing the Communications Media Ministry!!
What was known prior as the A/V ministry is now becoming the Communications Media Ministry (CMM).  The CMM will be made up of the A/V Ministry and the Newly formed Media Ministry.  If you are looking to contribute your skills and time to a new and exciting ministry, here is your opportunity!  We have some exciting ideas for our website to make it more dynamic, informational and relevant, but we needs brothers and sisters who are willing to give of themselves in a number of different roles.   We are asking all those who are interested to inform us by the end of February.

We will need a Web Editor-in Chief, Assistant Editors, Web Contributors (Blogs, Encouragement, Prayers, Lessons, etc), and Web Administrators for a variety of tasks.  The responsibilities of these different roles are…

Editor in Chief

  • Act as content liaison between ministry leadership/staff, web-site manager and web-site team
  • Organize contributors
  • Review contributor content prior to posting
  • Act as overall content manager for site from all sources

Web Contributors

  • Write articles which will serve as content for the website.
  • Create as needed the accompanying images for the article so that it can be displayed.
  • Remote access to the site is a must to accomplish this task.
  • Other than access, all technical expertise will be taught as needed.

Website Administrator

  • Ensuring that all content falls in line with how the overall Word Press framework functions
  • Providing web development expertise (i.e. HTML coding) to ensure proper visual effect to the content and site.
  • Performs maintenance to the site as requested or needed.
  • Takes direction from the Website Manager.

Website Manager

  • Manages activities of web administrators
  • Provides web development expertise to administrators as needed
  • Deals with site management issues with the provider and with ministry leadership
  • Researches technical needs/issues of site
  • Acts as technical liaison between editor-in-chief, ministry leadership and site team.

What we have in mind to organize the group is shown in the following diagram below (click the image to enlarge) …

Organization Chart

We originally planned to host a staff meeting and technical classes in March, in hopes of prayerfully being completely operational by April 1st .  In light of the lead evangelist interviews taking place in March, however we have decided to postpone the class until early April.

In addition we are looking for brothers and sisters who are interested in assisting us with video recording and /or photography also as a means of communication within our ministry and the church, and for use on our website.

For more information please stop by the A/V booth after service on Sunday and talk to either Don Behlin or Carlos Rodriguez.

We did have a meeting on April 9th from 11 AM – 1 PM.  After the meeting the following e-mail was sent out with these specific files used to describe our ministry, the plans we have and how we plan to move forward…

Good Afternoon All:

Thank you all so much!  What a wonderful meeting we had!  It was very encouraging for us to get together and kickoff this ministry.  I think that we are off to a great start and I think it is clear to all that we have a lot of work to do, but we are indeed doing the Lords work.

I am including all of the materials that Carlos and I used in putting together this meeting.

As a reminder we set a couple of deliverables for this week, which were identifying and talking with and getting buy-in for the various teams, and for our WC’s to create a simple blog (It can be something as simple as a scripture and a comment).

For those of you who were not able to attend today’s session, please stop by the AV booth tomorrow either before or after service so that we can discuss with you further the activities from today.  In the meantime please review the documents provided and feel free to ask any questions either through this email, or tomorrow before or after service.

As a reminder to all lets make sure that we include in our daily prayers for God to bless this ministry, and that it be successful and fruitful. Please also spread the word to as many as you can, about the ministry and the things that we are trying to accomplish.

Thanks Again to all and God Bless

DB

Thank you to everyone who has supported our Season of Service Days of
Service, Blood Drives, Saturday Academy, Harvest Baskets, Senior Santa
Parties, Lap Robes, Christmas Toy Drive & Distribution and more.  You have
demonstrated compassion and are great servants in every way.

 Upcoming Events:

HOPE Youth Corp… If you are interested in participating as a student or in supporting our students who wish to participate, please contact Jim or Debbie Mackie for more information, contact information provided below…

HOPE WorldWide Mentoring opportunities available this summer: Several of our students from the HOPE WorldWide Saturday Academy are interested in having a mentor for at least the summer months and perhaps into the next school year.  These are outstanding students who live in a high risk environment but have a great desire to drive to succeed in life.  You can be a part of that by just giving an hour a week to one of these students.  Male and female elementary and middle school students are available.  Time is well spent by just doing what you do and incorporating someone in your life, take them shopping, teaching good eating habits, attending a museum, concert, sports event, go to the pool, etc.

Please contact Jim or Debbie if you are interested or just want to learn more about all stated events at 292-2535 or 477-9291.
