We have three events occurring over the next three weeks of special interest to the Jacksonville Church of Christ family. These are the Spring Fling at the Taylor Home and the Going Away Pot-Luck Lunch in Honor of Guy and Loretta Berndt.

Spring Fling at the Taylor Home
We are in need of adult and children volunteers for our Spring Fling
and Car Show. This takes place at Taylor Home on May 7th,
10:00am till 2:00pm. It is a lot of fun and a great time to spend
with our senior citizens. There will be a sign up sheet on the back
table. Look forward to seeing you there.

Going Away Pot-Luck Lunch in Honor of Guy and Loretta Berndt
Please join us on May 15 immediately after worship service as we wish
the Berndt’s well and thank them for serving our church over the past
five years. More details will be on the way.

Free CPR/AED training
There will be a CPR /AED training class offered in the fellowship hall on May
22nd, 2011 immediately follow the 11am church service. Please contact
Rachelle Carty at 904-521-5625 with any questions.

Join us this Wednesday, March 16th, as we host our 5th annual bonfire. If you would like to join us for dinner please bring hotdogs, buns, chips and ingredients to make smores for yourself and a few to share. The church will provide all condiments, tea and lemonade. Remember not to forget your chairs and blankets!!!

Do you have items at home which you no longer use and think that someone else can use instead?? Are there household items you are looking for that would be great if you can acquire them from your neighbor?? The 3rd Annual – “Share Your Treasure Day” is coming where you can either donate or receive items so they can be used by those who need them. The specifics of donation and the event are provided below. We are also inviting a few community groups to come by to take (for FREE) whatever they need or want.

Our 2nd annual holiday party and neighborhood outreach is fast approaching.  This will be a fun family time celebrating the end of 2010 and the Christmas season.  It will take place on Sunday, December 19th at 5:30 PM in the Gymnasium. Christmas Under the Stars 2010 Information Document

The Wooten family has been an important part of our congregation for many years.  We are proud of them for stepping out in faith to serve God’s kingdom.  Please help us to honor them in a special way on Sunday December 5th for lunch immediately following Worship.  Please plan to bring a dish to share and your words of encouragement.

We just enjoyed our annual congregational campout at Stephen Foster Park in Georgia this past November 12th through the 14th and we are already planning the next one.  The dates will be November 11th through 13th.  If possible, go ahead and make your reservations at www.gastateparks.org/StephenCFoster

 On May 30th we will have our special contribution collection which will assist in supporting member churches in other countries like Paraguay (pictured) with programs designed to teach, provide needed services and evangelize.  Please search your hearts and donate whatever funds you can to provide needed worldwide support.

Will take place each day on June 21-25 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm each day.  We are planning for ages 4 through 5th Grade.  Signups forms for volunteers and children can be found in the back of the sanctuary or please contact:

There will be a volunteer meeting on  May 16th,  12:15 pm – 2 pm in the fellowship hall of the church.

Guy and Loretta plan to lead a mission for 7 days in Paraguay.  The group will travel there to encourage the church in Asuncion through teaching, service & evangelism. Contact the Berndt’s if you are interested in participating on this adventurous and spiritual trip.  Some financial assistance may be available for those interested in participating.

Senior Santa: Saturday December 11th from 2 – 4 pm at the Taylor Home.  We will be collecting Toilet Tissue Cores.  There will be a Basket in the lobby on the Hope Worldwide table for the donations.  See Juanita for more.

Christmas Toy Drive – November 1st – December 19th:  It is almost Christmas time again and this year we are going to get a jump on it with doing a toy drive to support the Christmas Toy Distribution we do on Christmas Eve.   This year the Teens are helping lead the way by working with their local sport teams, clubs and organizations to run a toy drive.  We will also ask local businesses for assistance as well as collect toys from the church.  If you would like to help be a part of the Toy Drive and you think your office, apartment building, or local business can help or if you have other questions, please contact Brad Jens at 904-327-2600 or send him an e-mail at wbj3569@yahoo.com.  He will give you a letter from Hope explaining the time frame we will be doing the Toy Drive and provide a box for the toys.  We will also be doing toy collection here at the church.
