Hope Worldwide Jacksonville

HOPE worldwide- Jacksonville Chapter is a faith based 501 ( c )(3) non-profit organization which serves this community. HOPE worldwide is an international charity that changes lives by harnessing the compassion and commitment of dedicated staff and volunteers to deliver sustainable, high-impact, community-based services to the poor and needy.

Our volunteers are involved in programs such as a Saturday Academy which provide mentoring and positive experiences for at-risk children with the Magic Johnson Center and Hilltop Village Apartments. Other programs include a Seasons of Service, involving a food drive in November and a Toy Drive and party for children on Christmas Eve as well as a Senior Santa party. Our Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service takes place in January. Through the year we host five blood drives in partnership with the American Red Cross. We also have a group which constructs Lap Robes to be distributed to the elderly and young mothers on the third Saturday of each month.

Our Jacksonville Chapter is a current member of Hands On Jacksonville, a part of the Points of Light Foundation and Hands on Network. To see our events and sign up to volunteer please visit www.handsonjacksonville.org.

On January 9, 2007, HOPE worldwide – Jacksonville was recognized with a Daily Point of Light Award by the Points of Light Foundation. In 2005 HOPE worldwide – Jacksonville received the Volunteer Jacksonville Heart of Gold Award. Our primary base of volunteers, the Jacksonville Church of Christ, received in 2005, 2006, and 2007 from President George W. Bush the President’s Gold Volunteer Service Award for providing over 1500 volunteer hours each year.
